[Responsibility]

Working with and creating digital landscapes, and using physical materials affects our world in multiple ways. Our collective and personal moral responsibility should always be accounted for in all our actions.

From Business to Buttons Conference

Experience Design + Art Direction

2018-24

From Business to Buttons (FBTB), appointed Europe's premier User Experience and Service Design conference, by State Of Design, several years in a row. A team that shaped ideas into reality and executed digital and physical experiences, year after year. It was the place to be for anyone working within design or who understood the need to invest in design. The last year for the conference was held 2024.

For 6 consecutive years, Jack accepted the daunting task and responsibility for all visuals created around and for the conference, art directing the experience & visual communication. The task was to create a visually aligned experience in all touch points from websites, social media content, and marketing material to print, animations, scenography, and much more. The rest is history.

Grain insight with BoMill

UI Design + Art Direction

2022

BoMill InSight™ is the next generation of grain quality sorting. Using a proven sorting technology, based on Near-Infrared Transmission (NIR-T) spectroscopy, BoMill scans every kernel in a batch of grains to accurately sort into two quality fractions. A design team of four collaborated with BoMill engineers and developers to design an intuitive HMI for their product.

After prototyping and conducting field studies, the team was presented with insight into the user's various needs and operational practices, guiding the visual work and technical testing forward. Consistency, accessibility, and modularity were the main considerations when designing the UI.

The visuals needed simplicity and a structured presentation that addressed the many different interactions that operated the equipment. Using a fluid grid that seamlessly shifted between views to meet various needs, information, and actions, we introduced modularity and the ability for new features and changes in the future.

EdTech for children with NE

App design

2015

Nationalencyklopedin is a company with a rich history in education publishing stretching back to 1980. Nationalencyklopedin started out producing and distributing a series of encyclopedias that later could be found in almost every Swedish home and bookshelf.

Today, NE is one of the leading educational platforms in Sweden and delivers digital educational services to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. 70% of all schools in Sweden have access to digital teaching aids, provided by NE.

NE's aim included offering a broader digital selection of tools and supporting the curriculums to meet the needs of young students in the classroom. After early workshops with educationalists, the scope was set to design and release seven utility-based iPad apps for students between 3 and 10 years of age, discovering colours, shapes, spelling and writing.
